This was the first commercial property we had ever purchased, which consisted of commercial on the main floor and residential one the 2nd and 3rd floor. The property was in major need of updates, with the owner having done nothing over the last 15 years. I'll be honest, this was the biggest project we had ever taken on, and was a huge learning experience, in terms of managing money, to managing people, to managing tenants, to managing paperwork.

It took almost a year to finally renovate the 2nd and 3rd floor and the restaurant in the commercial unit, but once it was fully finished, it became a cash cow and great income producer.
